Ahlstrom, a leader in high performance fiber-based materials, today announced price increases on its nonwoven food packaging products. The price increases shall be on average 8-12% depending upon the individual products. The price increase is a result of the escalation in raw material and energy costs, many of which have reached record levels. The products affected are infusion materials, such as tea bag materials and coffee pod filter papers as well as reinforcements used in fibrous meat casings.
The timing of the increases will depend on the nature of the products, existing contracts and invoicing currencies. The detailed actions will be discussed with customers through the appropriate business teams.
Ahlstrom is one of the leading producers of infusion products and reinforcements for meat casings. These products are manufactured at Ahlstrom's plants in Chirnside, UK, and in Windsor Locks, USA.
