Ahlstrom announces price increases on filtration materials

Ahlstrom Corporation, a leader in high performance fiber based solutions, announced today a plan to increase prices globally on its filtration products, due mainly to the rapid rise in energy prices, which is having an impact on a number of key raw materials.
"Over the past few months, energy prices have risen sharply and have impacted not only our own operations but also the entire cost structure of our raw material supply chain", explained Randal Davis, Sr. VP Filtration. "Although we are making every effort to absorb some of the increases and limit the impact on our customers, the dramatic changes in our operating environment force us to pass some of these increases to the market."

The planned price increase will be effective November 1, 2005 and the detailed actions will be discussed with customers through the appropriate business teams in the coming days.

Ahlstrom's Filtration business is a leading manufacturer of filtration materials used in air, liquid and engine applications with 10 production sites across four continents.
